IPL 2021 Match 16: RR v/s RCB. Bangalore win by 10 wickets.

Hello everyone. Let's talk about the match that was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals. The match was played at Wankhede stadium and the toss went in Bangalore's favour and they decided to bowl first. The match proved to be one-sided at the end as Bangalore cruised to victory by 10 wickets.

Jos Buttler and Manan Vohra opened for Rajasthan in the first inning and Buttler was sent back by Mohammad Siraj in the 3rd over of the match. He played a bad shot and missed the ball completely and was bowled by Siraj on 8 runs. Manan Vohra followed his partner to the dressing room after scoring 7 runs as he was dismissed by Kyle Jamieson in the 4th over. David Miller was dismissed leg before by Siraj for a duck. Sanju Samson got a start but couldn't make it big yet again and got out on 21 runs in the 8th over. Rajasthan had lost 4 wickets for 43 runs at that stage. Riyan Parag looked to be in a good form but couldn't score more than 25 runs. Shivam Dube and Rahul Tewatia came to the rescue for Rajasthan as the two scored 32 balls - 46 runs and 23 balls - 40 runs respectively which helped Rajasthan reach 177 runs. Bangalore needed to score 178 to win the match. Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj both picked up 3 wickets for Bangalore but Siraj did that which giving away runs at an economy of 6.75 which was mighty impressive.

Virat Kohli and Devdutt Paddikal opened for Bangalore and they made the run chase look way too easy. Paddikal scored his maiden century in the tournament and 101 runs off just 52 balls. He hit 11 fours and 6 sixes in his amazing inning. Kohli was overshadowed by Paddikal but he too made 72 runs off 47 balls and completed 6000 runs in the tournament as well. He becomes the first cricketer to do so. Bangalore won the match with 21 balls to spare as their openers hit all the Rajasthan bowlers for big runs.

Paddikal was awarded the Man of the Match title for his impressive inning and Bangalore would be pleased to have won 4 out of 4 matches this season. Bangalore regains the top spot on the points table and Rajasthan slips to the bottom. Bangalore looks like a complete team as the players are performing well in all three departments. For Rajasthan, there's plenty to worry about as the batting order failed once again. On a pitch like Wankhede's, 177 was never a safe score and they needed at least 20-30 runs more. The bowlers were expensive too and they would be expected to be better in the next matches.

The next match is between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings. Both the teams lost their previous match and would want to make a comeback. We'll have to wait and see which team adds those 2 points after the game. Please read about that match here on Saturday morning.
